Museum & Priory Ruins

Norton Priory has been a home for nearly 900 years for the medieval Augustinian Canons who lived, worked and prayed here, and for the wealthy Brooke family who made Norton their home for nearly 400 years.

We have an extensive collection of objects excavated at Norton Priory, from medieval tiles to Victorian buttons and bells, which reveal the stories of people who lived and worked at Norton Priory.

You can walk around the excavated ruins of the medieval Priory and discover the original location of the Church and Chapter house, as well as the warming room and toilets!

Don’t miss the stunning 12th Century Undercroft, part of the original priory and now a beautiful reminder of a lost way of life.
