St Christopher
One of the highlights of any visit to Norton Priory is the giant St Christopher statue. St Christopher is the patron saint of travellers and he welcomes visitors to Norton Priory from his own gallery with hi-tech screens and hands-on activities.
St Christopher was probably made in 1391 and he has seen the two lives of Norton Priory; as a home for the medieval Canons and as a home for the Brooke family.
St Christopher is made from sandstone, but when he was created, he was painted in many bright colours.
