Arranging a Visit

 

Norton Priory offers different types of visits. On any visit, you are able to explore and enjoy the Museum, the Walled Garden, the Woodland and the Sculpture Trail.

All school groups must book in advance to qualify for special education rates and to book lunch spaces.

Sessions are available from 10 am every weekday.

 

Independent Visits
If you book an Independent Visit, you can use the Museum and Gardens as you wish, organising and managing your own day.

These visits are ideal for Secondary schools, and offer the opportunity to use our extensive site for a range of subjects

Self Led Option
We offer a number of resources to deliver a Self Led Option. This enables you to visit different parts of the site, using special trails and guides. Click here to find out more about the FREE resources that are available.

Workshop Sessions
These sessions are led by Norton Priory staff and cover a range of historical, art and environmental subjects, with informative and interactive activities.  Sessions last 1 hour 15 minutes. Early Years Sessions last 1 hour.

An introductory tour — ’Priory: Past & Present’ is available instead of a workshop.

You can also borrow our Victorian Lives Loan box, for pre or post visit work in the classroom. The Loan box is available for a two week period and costs only £20. A £20 deposit is required on collection.

Outreach Session: Homes for all!

£40 in Halton - £50 outside. Sessions last 1 hour and are suitable for approx 30 pupils.

Prices valid from 1st April 2010.

 
Entry charge plus one Workshop or an introductory talk  £3.00 per pupil*
Additional Workshop sessions  £1.75 per pupil
One adult is admitted free of charge for every 6 children in any group  
Additional adults  £5.50
  *only exception - Construction session for secondary schools which costs £6 per pupil for full day

Please note: there is a minimum charge of £40 for workshops, talks and self-led options. 
There is a minimum charge of £25 for independent visits.
