Apple Day back and better than ever!
Norton Priory’s famous Apple Day is back and this year it is even better than ever!
There are some fantastic new activities for 2008 with fun for all ages – you can make your own bird box to take home, as well as making bird feeders for your birds. You can see the magnificent birds of prey from Vale Royal Falconry, have a go at willow weaving and try a rag rug art workshop.
And, as always, we have the Country Markets with a fantastic range of gifts and cakes, traditional games like apple bobbing and apple skittles, a chance to find out about different varieties of apples and have a look at our traditional apple press and you can attempt the world’s longest apple peel.
Apple Day is held in the beautiful and historic Walled Garden at Norton Priory, which is home to a huge variety of traditional produce, including medlars, damson, mulberry, pears, plums, gages, walnuts and twelve different varieties of English apples! And on apple day you can buy a wide variety of produce, books, jellies juices and cakes to take home.
