Ever wondered how we conduct the science and reveal the stories behind the people buried at Norton Priory? In our Introduction to Osteoarchaeology workshop you will learn the techniques used to discover this information.
With tuition from Dr Carla Burrell, you will have the opportunity to learn how to correctly put a skeleton in anatomical position. Learn how to assess age, sex and stature of a skeleton. Learn how to identify diseases and evidence of trauma and, most importantly, learn how we record this information.
Our workshop will be taught using both replica and real skeletons from the Norton Priory archaeological collection.
A light lunch will be provided.
