Within easy travelling distance of the cities of Liverpool, Manchester and Chester, Norton Priory is a popular film location and has been used as a location for a wide range of television and film settings including historical dramas, sitcoms and children’s programmes.

Examples of filming at Norton Priory include ‘The Irregulars’ (Netflix) ‘Little Birds’ (Sky Atlantic), ‘JoJo and Gran Gran’ (CBeebies) ‘Bone Detectives: Britain’s Buried Secrets’ (Channel 4), ‘Island at War’ (ITV), ‘Casanova’ (BBC), and ‘Young Dracula’ (CBBC).

The medieval undercroft provides an atmospheric backdrop covering any historic period, with a Victorian tiled floor, and vaulted ceilings. There is also the Georgian Walled Garden with plenty of accessible woodland and open spaces such as meadows and orchards nearby. The museum has its own car parking, and exclusive use of the site and out of hours filming can be negotiated for specific projects.

We seek to work with location managers and production teams to ensure filming at Norton Priory runs smoothly. If you are interested in filming at Norton Priory, or would like to arrange a site visit, please contact us on 01928 569895 during opening hours.
