Mike Amesbury MP becomes a Patron of Norton Priory Museum and Gardens
Date: 24 August 2022
Norton Priory has a new advocate, as Mike Amesbury MP becomes a Patron for the 42-acre site on the edge of Runcorn.
Mike Amesbury was first elected Labour MP for Weaver Vale in 2017 and re-elected in 2019, representing a constituency that includes East Runcorn. As MP, he became a key member of Labour’s shadow ministerial team; scrutinising Government as Shadow Employment Minister, Shadow Housing and Planning Minister and Shadow Local Government Minister.
Stepping down from the frontbench in June 2022 to concentrate on supporting his constituents through the cost-of-living crisis, he routinely provides a voice for local residents, organisations and businesses in the House of Commons.
Norton Priory’s story is one which spans 900 years and the Trust is looking forward to Mike Amesbury becoming an integral part of this continuing story.
