Rose Walk 50 Campaign

You’ve told us that our Walled Garden is your special place, somewhere which surprises every season, and that holds precious memories for many of you.

You might have noticed that, following lockdown, it needs a bit of extra love and attention. As part of our 50th anniversary celebrations for the first community dig at Norton Priory in 1971, we want to mark this very strange year and create a space of hope in the Walled Garden for you. With your help, we would like to create an exceptional place where you can reflect, enjoy a moment of peace alone, or create memories with loved ones. We will be entirely digging up and replanting the rose walk, choosing over 230 roses in more than 40 specially selected varieties, an amazing array of scents and colours as well as gorgeous lavender and spring flowers.

In order to do this, we need to raise at least £18,000 to help us dig up, replant and purchase the flowers and materials needed. We are aiming for this to be ready for you to enjoy in Spring 2021 when the Walled Garden reopens. It's £71 to sponsor a rose; this is a nod to 1971 and also includes the amount to purchase, plant and care for a rose over the course of 20 years. If you're looking for something even more special, you could choose to sponsor a bench for £1,500 with a personalised message to remember a loved one or mark an occasion. As a sponsor, you’ll have your name listed on a plaque with all our amazing sponsors and receive an invitation to a special celebration in 2021.
